Stepping Outside my Comfort Zone and Facing my Fears in a Coliving House 🏠

Stepping Outside my Comfort Zone and Facing my Fears in a Coliving House 🏠

This past week I’ve been doing a LOT of stepping outside my comfort zone and a LOT of facing my fears.

And it’s been scary… but really amazing as well.

For one thing, I’ve moved into a coliving house in Spain with 15 other digital nomads for a month (before I head to another coliving house for another three weeks), which is a bit of a shock after living on my own for the past three years.

The house we’re in is lovely, and it’s also quite isolated, which means we’re going out in groups rather than on our own, and hanging out a lot together as one large group.

It’s pretty intense.

We live together, we work together, we teach each other things in our professional events, we learn from each other, and we socialise together. We also do a lot of drinking wine and talking about life – which, for an introvert, can be a lot. 🍷

I also did my very own professional event – a presentation and a discussion about life purpose and leaving a lasting legacy. Public speaking is my number one fear, so I wasn’t exactly looking forward to it, but I’m so glad I did it.

Pushing ourselves to leave our comfort zones and do things that scare us is a sure-fire way to grow and get better at all kinds of things in life.

🌎 For me, I’ve always loved travelling, but solo travelling is a little outside my comfort zone. And staying in coliving houses is WAY outside my comfort zone. But I knew it would be an amazing experience – as long as I made the most of it.

As long as I took part in everything I could, and offered to lead my own professional event, and made the effort to make connections with all my fellow housemates, people I’d never normally meet – people from Spain, America, China, India, Ukraine, France, Croatia, South Africa, Denmark, and Finland. People who are living the life I want to live, and sharing their knowledge and wisdom as they go. People who are constantly thinking outside the box in terms of their work, their lifestyle, and their lives in general. It’s incredibly inspiring.

I’m doing a lot of stepping outside my comfort zone here, and I believe it’s going to pay off big style.

So, what are you going to do to step outside your comfort zone, face your fears, and keep  growing? Do you have any big plans? I’d love to know – let me know by emailing jess@jessicagracecoleman.com or DMing me on Insta @jessicagcoleman! 💜

(Oh, and if you’re interested, the coliving house I’m currently staying in is a pop-up experience for just one month in the Basque Country, but the company have their own coliving house in Javea, Spain – they’re called Sun and Co. and they’re amazing!)
